DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The De Pere school district updated its COVID-19 protocols Monday for elementary students.
At a morning meeting, the school board “voted to bring the quarantine protocol for grades K-6 in line with the quarantine protocols that they approved last Monday’s school board meeting for grades 7-12. Basically, if a student is determined to be a close contact, they will not have to quarantine and miss school as long as they are symptom free and wear a mask in the school building,” according to Supt. Ben Villarruel.
The district was recently sued by a parent upset with the district’s quarantine policy. A hearing on a temporary restraining order request in that case is scheduled for Nov. 1.
