MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The top 16 Coolest Things Made In Wisconsin have been announced and some are produced in our area.
The Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) Coolest Things Made in Wisconsin contest is held annually to recognize manufacturing in the state.
Nearly 50,000 votes were cast online to choose the top 16 among a number of nominations.
“Manufacturing is the state’s largest industry and a driver for Wisconsin’s economic growth,” said Kurt Bauer, WMC President & CEO. “These products showcase how vibrant and diverse this industry truly is, and that is why we do this contest. Not only are we thrilled to highlight these cool products, we want to honor the hardworking people in manufacturing who have been so critical over the last year.”
The products hailing from Northeast Wisconsin are:
- Mercury Marine – V12 600hp Verado Outboard Engine (Fond du Lac)
- Broadwind Heavy Fabrications – 140 Ton Navy Crane (Manitowoc)
- BenShot – Aircraft Propeller Glasses (Appleton)
- Drexel Building Supply – Off-Site Construction Residential Building (Campbellsport)
- BayTek Entertainment – Skee-Ball (Pulaski)
You can vote for your favorite online now through Sept. 28.
After that, the top eight will be selected with two more rounds of voting.
The winner will be announced Oct. 14.
