GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay residents will have the opportunity to have a say in the hire of the city’s next police chief.
The City of Green Bay Police and Fire Commission will hold public listening sessions as it conducts a nationwide search to replace Andrew Smith, who retired last month.
The sessions are meant to gather input regarding the skills and attributes desired in the new chief, the city says.
Six sessions have been scheduled, with four taking place in-person and the other two virtually via Zoom. The schedule is as follows:
Thursday at 5:30 p.m.: Divine Temple Church
Tuesday from noon-1 p.m.: Zoom
July 7 at 5:30 p.m.: Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
July 8 at 5:30 p.m.: Casa ALBA Melanie
July 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.: Zoom
July 15 at 5:30 p.m.: Boys & Girls Club Lutsey Unit – East Side Clubhouse
