OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oshkosh airport opened its new, modern general aviation terminal, just in time for the return of EAA AirVenture.
Wednesday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony offered the public a chance to see inside the new 12,500 square-foot terminal at Wittman Regional Airport.
The $5.5 million project broke ground in July of 2020; completed on time and under budget.
The terminal replaces both the existing commercial service passenger terminal, built in 1971, and the former General Aviation terminal, built in 1958.
It will accommodate transient air traffic travelling in and out of Oshkosh and the greater Fox Valley and also provide space for Basler Flight Service, airport administrative offices, space for a rental car operation and meeting rooms available to the general public.
EAA AirVenture is set for July 26 – Aug. 1.
