MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More fans will soon be allowed to attend Brewers and Bucks games in Milwaukee.
Both teams on Tuesday announced plans to increase capacity at home games to 50%. The increase will begin at American Family Field on Saturday and at Fiserv Forum when the NBA Playoffs begin later this month.
The Brewers had been allowing roughly 10,000-15,000 fans to begin the season. According to Rich Schlesinger, team president – business operations, the increase allows the team to meet the demand for tickets and elevate the entire ballpark experience.
“We have demonstrated to date that we can host fans safely at American Family Field, and we appreciate the support of City of Milwaukee Commissioner of Health Kirsten Johnson in increasing the capacity,” Schlesinger said in a news release.
Fans with full and partial season ticket packages will recieve an email this week detailing seating options moving forward. Single-game tickets remain available for games through May 27, and more details about single-game ticket availablility and the promotional schedule for games Memorial Day-June 16 will be announced Friday.
Meanwhile, the Bucks, in light of updated Milwaukee Health Department health and safety guidelines, will allow about 9,000 fans to attend playoff games at Fiserv Forum. The team has been allowing about 3,000 fans at home games since March 20.
“We are excited that the Bucks will be able to increase capacity to 50 percent for the playoffs at Fiserv Forum thanks to the new health and safety guidelines by the Health Department,” said Bucks and Fiserv Forum President Peter Feigin in a news release. “It’s important to stress that health and safety continue to be our priority and wearing masks and following other safety protocols remain mandatory. Our lives are certainly not back to normal, but this is a positive step forward for the Bucks, the City and our fans. We thank Bucks fans for their unwavering support throughout this unusual season and look forward to welcoming back more of Bucks Nation to Fiserv Forum in a few weeks.”
While arena capacity will be increased, the following protocols will remain in place:
- Fans will be required to wear face coverings at all times when inside Fiserv Forum, except when eating or drinking.
- Tickets will continue to be sold in pods.
- Fans are not permitted to brings in bags and items larger than 4″x6″x1″.
Limited single-game tickets for playoff games go on sale Friday at noon on the Bucks website and Bucks mobile app. Season ticket members will be contacted by their representative with playoff ticket information.
