(METRO) MILWAUKEE – Willson Contreras clubbed a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning to lift the Cubs past the Brewers 3-2 in Milwaukee.
Cubs manager David Ross says Willson Contreras stepped up in a big way.
Kris Bryant plated the other run with a sac-fly in the fourth as Chicago snapped a three-game skid.
Pedro Strop picked up the win and Craig Kimbrel notched his third save.
Luis Urias hit a two-run homer for the Crew, who had won their previous three.
Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff says he had to battle through six innings.
