MADISON, WI (WRN) – The Wisconsin Supreme Court will release a ruling tomorrow (Wednesday) on whether Governor Tony Evers can issue multiple public health declarations.
Last May the court overturned the initial extended order, just after the Democratic governor first issued a pandemic public health emergency. Evers then issued a new declaration in late summer, serving as foundation for the current mask mandate.
He’s issued multiple declarations to extend it, including last month when the Legislature rescinded a declaration. The court heard oral arguments back in November.
The mask mandate ends next Tuesday. Evers has said he’ll extend it if the situation with the pandemic warrants.
