GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Lambeau Field will open next week as a mass coronavirus vaccination site.
The Green Bay Packers, Bellin Health and Brown County Public Health are teaming up to offer the clinic. It will be open to eligible community members beginning Wednesday.
At this time, those 65 years old and older, along with many essential workers, including police, firefighters, first responders and teachers, are eligible. A full list of eligible people is available on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ website.
Beginning March 29th, those with certain chronic conditions will become eligible.
The clinic in the Lambeau Field Atrium will have enough supply to vaccinate 6,000 people per week at the beginning. If weather conditions allow, other areas of the stadium could open to vaccinations as well. The stadium could potentially handle as many as 10,000 people a week with enough supply.
Appointments will be required. People who are eligible can call (920) 445-7313 to add their names to an appointment waiting list. Belli says it hopes to create an online option for scheduling appointments as well. You do not need to be a Bellin patient to make an appointment.
Those receiving shots should park in Lot 3 off Lombardi Avenue on the east side of the stadium. Enter through the American Family Insurance Gate and take the escalator, stairs or elevator to the atrium’s main level. Masks will be required at all times, and everyone receiving a shot will need to stay and be monitored for adverse reactions for 15 minutes.
Assistance will be offered for those who have mobility issues.
President Joe Biden said Thursday he would direct states to make all adults eligible on May 1. Earlier in the day, Gov. Tony Evers and state health officials said all adults would likely become eligible by the end of May.
