FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The man arrested after what the city police department called its largest meth bust was sentenced Friday to 14 years in prison.
Adrian Irby, 36, was previously convicted of two counts of amphetamine delivery, possession with intent to deliver amphetamine, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Irby’s sentence also includes 11 years of extended supervision. His prison term begins after he finishes a 3 1/2-year jail sentence he is currently serving.
He was arrested Feb. 19, 2020, with a shipment of drugs from Mississippi, according to city police.
“Upon searching the vehicle officers discovered approximately 3.25 pounds of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun. One of the suspects, the target of the investigation, was arrested and taken into custody for felony drug trafficking and weapon charges. The street value of the methamphetamine that was seized is estimated to be approximately $148,000. This seizure is the single largest amount of methamphetamine ever seized in the City of Fond du Lac,” a news release stated.
