GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Indoor spaces that are open to the public are now limited to 25% capacity.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ latest emergency order took effect Thursday.
For restaurants like A’Bravo Bistro, adjusting to serving a smaller capacity was seamless.
“We’ve been following the Brown County Health Department’s guidelines and CDC as well too. We were going at 50% capacity already so then we’re just going to follow the 25 just as best as we can,” A’Bravo general manager Greg Kudick said.
Kudick tells FOX 11 A’Bravo will lean on services like curbside pickup and takeout to make up for customers who can’t dine in.
“Everyone is different so we just want to make sure that if you come out that it’s a safe place for you to eat here and enjoy our food.”
A’Bravo is recommending reservations to secure a spot inside.
“Just so we know and have an idea… if we are at capacity please understand that we may have to turn you away and we may offer you take out or curbside or even give you a menu then and maybe you can order from the car and take out from there too,” Kudick said.
Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych tells FOX 11 his goal when it comes to policing the order is compliance and education.
“We really stress the importance of education, really taking the time to get people to understand why it’s in place and get people to comply.”
He says officers won’t hesitate to step in, if they’re needed.
“If there is ever a situation where a crime is being committed, peace is not kept, or things just become unlawful, we will always be there to respond and make sure that we restore order.”
Kudick says that while it is hard to plan ahead this year, the restaurant will continue to adjust accordingly.
