KENOSHA, WI (WTAQ) — Jacob Blake had a knife during the incident in which a Kenosha Police officer shot him on Sunday.
Whether that knife was on his person or in his car remains the question, one that wasn’t answered during a Wednesday press conference where Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul named the officer who pulled the trigger.
Kaul says Officer Rusten Sheskey, a seven-year veteran of the Kenosha Police Department, shot Blake in the back seven times as Blake was reaching into his car.
Kaul says Department of Justice investigators found Blake’s knife on the floor of that car. They’re continuing to investigate. It’s not clear how the revelation will impact any potential charges against Sheskey.
Blake remains at a Milwaukee area hospital. His family says he’s paralyzed.
