Yesterday, the failed Wisconsin Elections Commission unanimously agreed to finalize plans to mail out roughly 2.7-million absentee ballot request forms to Wisconsinites.
That’s problematic for two reasons.
First of all, doing so will unnecessarily spend a large sum of taxpayer money. If eligible Wisconsin voters want to request such a form, they certainly can do so. However, they should be the ones seeking out the form.
Inevitably, money will be wastefully spent on mailing forms to people who do not want forms.
Second of all, there is a six-figure number of individuals on the Wisconsin voting roll who are not legally eligible to vote in our elections.
The WEC is legally required to remove these individuals from the voting roll, but the group has continually refused to do so. The three Democrats on the WEC have defied the rule of law and defied an Ozaukee County judge’s December 2019 order.
They’re putting their own political interests and their Democrat Party’s political interests ahead of the rule of law.
And the three WEC Republicans have not done a sufficient job pushing back on their Democrat colleagues’ lawlessness. They should be consistently sounding the alarm to the lawlessness that is taking place, but they have been seemingly silent on the matter for some time now.
Considering that a large number of ineligible individuals are still on Wisconsin’s voting roll, mailing out these ballot request forms is problematic, as they will inevitably be mailed to at least some people who are not legally allowed to vote.
There must be no lawlessness in any of our elections. It does not matter if lawless activity benefits Democrats or benefits Republicans. There have been instances in this country where people of both parties have sought to compromise our elections. No lawlessness can be tolerated.
If this nation does not have free and fair elections, this nation has no legitimacy. It is imperative that all of us who care about our shared nation’s well-being put politics aside and come together to oppose all efforts to compromise our elections.
