However, contrary to what some of Whitmer's mainstream media propagandists want you to believe,
she is not doing right by the entire state of Michigan
.
Rather, Whitmer is still refusing to allow businesses in certain industries to reopen. Among the businesses that, according to Whitmer, still will not be allowed to open for several weeks include barbershops and hair salons.
That's brought Whitmer criticism from various constituents.
In response, Whitmer told anyone who wants/needs a haircut to 'Google how to give yourself a haircut.'
It seems Whitmer thinks this is funny, but it certainly is not.
Yes, there are Michigan residents who want/need haircuts for personal/professional reasons. According to Whitmer's own government, it takes 1,800 approved hours for a person to be certified in the profession, meaning that the people who are supposed to 'use Google' are not going to be able to give themselves a haircut that would live up to Michigan's own standard.
Far more important, though, is the fact that Whitmer is continuing to allow these barbershops and hair salons to suffer. Many of them are locally-owned small businesses.
These business owners are trying to make an honest living so they can properly provide for themselves and their loved ones.
For months, Gretchen Whitmer has unconstitutionally deprived them of this ability, and she continues to deprive them of this ability.
Sadly, as a result of Whitmer and various other U.S. governors' unconstitutional stay at home/safer at home orders, numerous businesses have gone under. It's important to note that the governors who fall into this category are Democrat and Republican alike.
The longer these orders remain in place in Michigan and elsewhere, the more businesses there will be that hit the financial point-of-no-return.
It's incredibly sad that this is happening to average, law-abiding Americans, especially since this harsh reality was totally avoidable.
We're in the midst of a pandemic. While this program hopes everyone remains healthy, the reality of the situation is that people can get infected with the virus anywhere they go.
People could pick up the virus at an essential business just as they could pick up the virus at a “non-essential” business.
In some cases, it's more likely that people would pick up the virus at an essential business, due to the large number of people that are often patronizing such businesses at one time.
There is no legitimate reason for Gretchen Whitmer or any of these other governors to keep these unconstitutional orders in place. The only reason Whitmer and others are doing so is out of a refusal to fully surrender their authoritarian power trips of recent months.
Gretchen Whitmer is a tyrant, and she should be recalled from office for the harm she continues to inflict on law-abiding Michigan residents.
