A simple check of the local jail records confirms that is not true. Rather, some of the arrested rioters were from the St. Paul area.
Thus, the aforementioned tweet is clearly misinformation. It is not factual.
Did Twitter go applying a 'warning label' to the non-factual tweet that its founder retweeted? As of the time that this post is being authored, the answer to that question is 'no.'
And that's interesting, considering how Twitter is now telling us it's committed to 'weeding out misinformation.'
You'll likely recall that just last week, Twitter slapped a 'warning label' on a President Trump tweet that accurately noted that a system of elections that is fully conducted by-mail opens the door for various means of election fraud.
That got a 'warning label,' but an NBC News tweet whose content was disproven did not get a warning label.
Just as countless other tweets from leftist elites and their mainstream media propagandists about their Trump-Russia hoax and various other leftist hoaxes remain on the site without warning labels.
Making things even worse for Twitter, the company has admitted that neither Trump's tweet that was hit with a 'warning label' nor a Trump tweet that was hidden last week for “glorifying violence” violated the company's policies.
Clearly, Twitter's censoring of tweets has nothing to do with consistency or an ambition to adhere to factual information.
Rather, Twitter is pushing a political agenda…one that is pro-Democrat and anti-Trump. They're not even doing a meaningful job of hiding the double standard that they're employing.
And if Twitter wants to operate in this manner, that's fine. It has the right to do so in the United States.
However, Twitter must be honest with its users/potential users about what it does, and it certainly should not receive any government protections, which other companies who operate in a similar manner do not receive.
