KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A fire truck is a total loss after a fire started inside the building of the Vandenbroek-Kaukauna Fire Department.
Crews were called to the building on County Rd. JJ around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, after a passerby saw smoke coming from the building.
Firefighters from Freedom also responded to the call to help Vandenbroek-Kaukauna put the fire out.
The fire destroyed the department’s main engine, damaged the building and equipment truck, as well as caused smoke damage to another fire truck parked inside the buidling.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
At this time, officials are not sure how much monetary damage the fire caused.
No one was inside the building when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.
