GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Friday marks the lowest day of COVID-19 growth in Brown County in over a month.
Only eight new cases of the virus were reported by county health officials, bringing the total number to 2,329.
That’s the lowest since cases spiked in late April after a surge in cases was linked to a number of area meat packing plants. On April 23rd, over 100 new cases were detected in the county.
Officials say the virus is on a downward trajectory in the county.
Nearly 800 patients have recovered. There are 29 in the hospital and 36 have died.
Friday marks the last day in which Brown County officials are independently releasing COVID-19 data. Future Brown County data will come exclusively from the state Department of Public Health.
