GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Brown County COVID-19 numbers are trending in a positive direction.
Prevea CEO Dr. Ashok Rai says despite an initial surge in the virus early last month, things are tapering off. The percentage of tests that come back positive per day in Brown County has dropped.
“Our highest date was May 7th at 12.41% percent,” Rai told reporters Thursday. “Then the day after that we were at 9.24 percent. So we’ve definitely seen a peak and then a definite statistically significant decline.”
Data collected from weeks of COVID-19 community testing in Brown County allowed experts to see the exact state of the virus in the county, but things aren’t over.
“As we are moving into this next phase, it’s important for us to remind ourselves that it’s not gone until we’ve developed a medication and a vaccine,” said Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach.
Three more Brown County residents have died as a result of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Over 2,300 have had the virus.
