GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Community testing for the COVID-19 Coronavirus in Brown County has revealed a downward trend in the virus locally.
Prevea Health President and CEO Dr. Ashok Rai told reporters Friday that a “statistically significant” downward slope of positive COVID-19 cases compared to the amount of testing done has been shown over the past several weeks.
Of the over 10,400 people in Brown County tested at the two community testing sites at the Resch Center and Casa ALBA Melanie, 4%, or 419, tested positive for the virus. Asymptomatic patients accounted for 1.6% of the total, or 110 cases.
Today is the final day of operation for those testing sites.
There were 27 new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Brown County on Friday.
Those pushed the county’s total above the 2,200 mark. Officials reported 2,220 cases Friday along with one new death, that of a 89-year-old woman. Her death is the county’s 32nd from the virus.
Out-of-isolation numbers hit a new high with 768 patients recovered or recovering.
