FOND DU LACK, WI (WTAQ) – A 20-year-old man was shot during a disturbance in Fond du Lac last night. It happened around 8 p.m. in the 200 block of 8th Street. Police say the man was shot in the leg. His injuries aren’t life threatening. Authorities wound up taking several people into custody in connection with this incident.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at approximately 8:09 p.m. the Fond du Lac Police Department received a 911 call of a male subject being shot in the 200 block of 8 th Street. Additional calls were received indicating there was a disturbance in the same area. Officers arriving on scene located a 20 year old Fond du Lac man who sustained a gunshot wound to the left leg. The victim’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening and he was transported to St. Agnes Hospital. During the course of the investigation it was determined a vehicle involved in the shooting incident fled the scene and was later located in the 400 block of Roosevelt St in the City of Fond du Lac. A search warrant was obtained for this address and the Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were activated to assist in serving the warrant. As a result of the warrant a number of individuals were taken into custody for questioning without further incident.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue and Ripon Police Department K-9 Unit.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
