OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – After nearly two months, businesses are beginning to reopen.
Weights are being lifted again at Limitless Elite Gym in Grand Chute — with some extra precautions.
“It was an overwhelming feeling of excitement walking in today and seeing some familiar faces that we haven’t seen in months,” Sara Meyer, owner of Limitless Elite Gym, said.
Owners Sara and Quintin Meyer say the last two months haven’t been easy.
“Honestly if it would have happened a month prior to when it did, I don’t know if we would have gotten through it,” Quintin said.
It’s hasn’t been easy for Hidden Gem Barber Studio either.
“I have zero income for the last two months, aside from my loyal customers who have bought gift cards and stuff that really helps out. But overall its been a struggle,” owner Emily Bloch said.
Bloch cannot wait to get clients back in the chair bright and early Saturday.
She says demand is high.
“I have two months of clients that I need to reschedule on top of everyone else who also needs a haircut,” Bloch said.
Bloch says she is making changes to keep her workers and customers as safe as possible.
“I will be following the WEDC guidelines, wearing a facemask myself. My clients are welcome to wear them, however, it is not required. As well as sanitizing pretty much anything anyone touches. So… we’re ready,” Bloch said.
On College Ave. in downtown Appleton, Lillians reopened its clothing store under the state’s badger bounce back plan on Tuesday.
Owner Kara Manuel says business is booming.
“We have been busy. Surprisingly yes, every day there’s a steady flow of people coming in, and everybody wants to talk so it takes a little longer. We’re spending a lot of time rekindling those relationships,” Manuel said.
