GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Greater Green Bay YMCA is not open, and still won’t be for a few weeks at least.
Spokesperson Sherri Valitchka says that when people are allowed to return, things will be different.
“We’re gonna have reduced capacity and some of our areas in the Y,” Valitchka told WTAQ. “And in our workout spaces equipment will be distanced more so than it has in the past.”
They’ll also conduct temperature checks for people coming into the building and encouraging patrons and staff to wipe down equipment and practice physical distancing.
Valitchka says you won’t see the inside of their facilities until they’re confident about health and safety.
“The safety of our members of our staff is our first priority,” Valitchka said Friday. “We need to feel confident that we have all our procedures and protocols in place.”
They have a target opening date of June 1st, but Valitchka says that date is subject to change as YMCA officials monitor info from state and local health departments.
