GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Officers in Green Bay held a ceremony in honor of Law Enforcement Week on Thursday.
The ceremony included comments by Chief Andrew Smith and a presentation of the colors by the city’s Honor Guard.
It was a tribute to officers who died while on duty, and to celebrate the brave people who serve today.
One officer in Green Bay’s history has fallen in the line of duty. Patrolman George Antone Motquin was killed December 17, 1951 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a drunk driver while walking home from his shift.
