GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is causing mental health problems for many in the country.
Between depressing information online and financial and employment stress for some, Bellin Health Psychiatrist Emily Rademacher says the pandemic is taking its toll.
“We’re social beings by nature, that’s just what we are,” Rademacher said Thursday. “This goes against our very nature.”
There are some things everyone can do to help keep themselves in a good place mentally; like adopting their usual routine.
“Getting out of bed, taking a shower, putting on real pants…as if you’re going to work,” said Rademacher. “Just to get your brain back in that mindset.”
If you find yourself needing mental health help, Rademacher says to contact your primary care doctor or, if you need it, a suicide or crisis hotline.
