GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – There were nearly 300 confirmed coronavirus cases added in Brown County over the weekend.
Health officials said today the latest numbers showed 1,441 positive tests for the virus. That is 278 more than on Friday.
The county is also tracking 12 cases in the Oneida Nation, four more than on Friday. And, a sixth person has died of COVID-19. He was a 43-year-old man from the 54302 zip code.
Of the active cases in Brown County, 41 people are in the hospital, while 172 people are out of isolation.
The update comes as the county opened its first communitywide testing location at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon.
County Executive Troy Streckenbach says the county is also looking to open a location on Green Bay’s east side. The goal is for the sites to run until May 16th. At that point, testing would return to being operated by health care organizations.
To be tested at the Resch Center, those experiencing symptoms need to sign up. Find more information here.
