KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A healthcare company and catering business teamed up to make a difference in Northeast Wisconsin.
United Healthcare and Heirloom Kitchen Catering of Kaukauna are delivering meals in Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago counties.
Volunteers are giving meals to about 100 residents who were identified as needing additional support.
The groups started delivering the meals Wednesday and plan to continue Thursday.
The CEO of United Healthcare Community Plan of Wisconsin, Ellen Sexton, tells FOX 11 the group found that many of their members aren’t able to get access to healthy food.
“During these times, I think we’re all talking about how do you keep eating healthy and how do you help people that are in times of need and this is just one great way to do it.”
Fork Farms of Appleton also donated 60 to 100 bags of fresh grown greens to include with the meals.
