GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A competency exam has been ordered for a man who allegedly shot his father during an argument.
Sedric King, 23, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the March 16 incident in Ashwaubenon.
King allegedly shot Dennis James in the hip with a .45 caliber handgun at a residence on Santa Barbara Drive. James said the two argued about an electrical fuse box being taken apart by King, according to the criminal complaint. James was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The competency exam will determine if King can understand the proceedings and assist in his own defense.
