GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — You might get a municipal ticket if you repeatedly violate Governor Tony Evers’ Safer-at-Home order.
Green Bay Police will now be able to write municipal, rather than just criminal, citations for violations of the Safer-at-Home order, but Police Commander Kevin Warych says it probably won’t be common.
“We’ve informed the officers to take the extra time and go out and explain the governor’s order and ask for compliance,” Warych told WTAQ. “That has happened the majority of the time.”
The municipal citations come with a $376 fine. Warych says they’ve only issued three criminal citations since the onset of the order and that citation is only used as a last resort.
