GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fox Valley company is being fined for allegedly exposing employees to hazards.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined MODS International Inc. of Grand Chute $216,299 for seven repeat and seven serious safety and health violations.
OSHA says the company failed to conduct workplace hazard assessments; develop a hazardous communication program; train employees on hazardous materials, fall protection hazards, and how to properly operate forklifts; develop and implement respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs; and install adequate machine guarding. OSHA also alleges MODS International’s repeat violations were storing oxygen and acetylene storage tanks improperly, failing to inspect fire extinguishers and exposing employees to electrical hazards.
The company is contesting the citations.
MODS International converts shipping containers into commercial and residential structures.
