APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Seven area non-profits have been awarded $80,000 in grants to assist their efforts during the coronavirus pandemic.
The donations came from from the COVID-19 Community Response Fund which was established by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities.
Recipients are from New London, the Fox Cities and Brillion. 21 non-profit organizations in total have received some of the funds bringing the total awarded to $275,000.
Since the fund was established, many individuals and businesses have stepped up very generously to contribute more than $621,138.
Grants from the fund support nonprofit organizations engaging in immediate basic needs relief, short-term response and longer-term recovery of many types of nonprofits in Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, Waupaca and the Neenah-Menasha area of Winnebago counties.
The community can also donate online or by sending checks payable to Community Foundation/COVID-19 and mailed to Community Foundation, 4455 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, WI 54914.
