BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Although there will be no coordinated statewide tornado drill this year, Brown County will still run its outdoor sirens on Thursday afternoon.
This week is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. The statewide tornado drill is traditionally held on Thursday of the awareness week each year.
However, because of the pandemic, the state is encouraging citizens to hold “virtual” tornado drills. Brown County authorities are urging families to go over their preparedness plans when the sirens sound at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
Brown County Emergency Management says it will not hold its usual weekly siren test this Wednesday at noon.
