MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – Judge Jill Karofsky is set to change her title following an upset win over incumbent Supreme Court Justice Daniel Kelly. She will serve a 10-year term.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court will see a bit more balance on the bench as the Democratic-backed Jill Karofsky stormed past Justice Daniel Kelly, who was appointed by former Republican Governor Scott Walker.
While state Supreme Court candidates in Wisconsin are technically nonpartisan, they are almost always aligned with or supported by political parties. With Karofsky taking Kelly’s place – the court will be composed of four conservative-aligned judges, and three liberal judges.
