CHILTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — It was a Good Friday service parishoners in Chilton aren’t likely to soon forget.
Six churches came together Friday to put on a drive-in service at the Chilton Drive-in theater.
People were invited to watch the service in their vehicles.
“When the whole thing came out that we had to do something for COVID-19, we originally planned on doing this inside the church, but then we said we have to do something else. And when it came time to do something outside, we said, ‘well what about the theater?’” said Pastor Thomas Schmitt of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton.
The unique service still complies with the Governor Evers’ “Safer at Home” order.
The drive-in was also going to host an Easter Mass but the pending wintry weather Sunday has canceled that.
