GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — There have been a few non-essential businesses in Green Bay that have not been complying with the Governor’s ‘Safer at Home’ Order.
Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych says they’ve had to conduct enforcement.
“It’s complaint driven, and in some cases we’ve had to shut down businesses considered non-essential,” said Warych.
Police haven’t said which businesses have been made to close, but do say police have been taking a number of complaints every day from citizens reporting open non-essential businesses.
“When the complaints come in, they come in to the shift commander,” Warych said. “The shift commander then determines whether or not the business meets the criteria of essential versus non-essential.”
Warych says there has been some confusion on which businesses are considered non-essential. A full list can be found here.
