OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Oshkosh Area School District says it needs the community’s help in ensuring no child or student family goes hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The district needs additional financial support to meet the demand of its free Grab-and-Go Meal Program through the school closure.
While the district receives federal funding for feeding students, it is not reimbursed for any meals given to a student’s parent/guardian or non-school-aged siblings.
The money collected will be used to cover the cost of the meals for those who are not OASD students.
Donations can be made directly to the district, or tax-free donations can be made to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation as follows:
- Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the Oshkosh Area School District, Attn: Business Office at 215 S Eagle Street, Oshkosh, WI 54902. Please indicate “Grab-and-Go Free Meal Program” when making a donation.
- Tax-free donations can be made to the OASD Education Foundation – Basic Needs Fund. Checks should be written out to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, with the “OASD Basic Needs Fund” written in the memo; and mailed or dropped off to 230 Ohio Street, Suite 100, Oshkosh, WI 54902.
