OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – An Oshkosh teen says he wants an outside jury to hear his case to charges stemming from the stabbing of a police school resource officer.
Grant Fuhrman, 17, is charged with one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the December 3rd incident at West High School involving Officer Mike Wissink.
The criminal complaint says Fuhrman confronted officer Wissink in his office at Oshkosh West. Wissink says Fuhrman asked him to look up information on his computer, and Fuhrman stabbed him multiple times with a barbecue fork as he turned away.
Court documents also say Wissink couldn’t get to his Taser, so he fired his gun twice.
The stabbing and shooting caused Oshkosh West to evacuate, and nearby schools were put on lockdown.
If convicted, Fuhrman faces up to 60 years in prison, including 40 years initial confinement. Fuhrman was 16 at the time of the incident.
In Wisconsin, those ages 10 and older charged with homicide or attempted homicide counts are prosecuted in adult court
