GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — As the seasons slowly begin to change, the Brown County Parks System is taking inventory of damage sustained over the past few months.
Parks Director Matt Kriese says some damage occurred earlier this season at Bay Shore Park.
“At Bay Shore Park, what damage did occur happened around Thanksgiving,” Kriese said Wednesday. “That was that strong storm surge, and that broke off some of the asphalt in the parking lot.”
Crews are going to work on the park once the weather clears. It will be one of the first asphalt projects worked on this year.
Pamperin park is closed right now due to widespread flooding.
“Pamperin park is currently closed due to the spring thaw and the flooding that’s occuring in the park due to Duck Creek,” said Kriese. “So we’re monitoring that…once the ice breaks in Duck Creek the concern will be reduced.”
That’s expected to worsen before it gets better as ice melts.
