GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – There’s a new owner of the original Shopko store property in Green Bay.
Specialty contractor, H.J. Martin and Son, announced Friday it purchased the vacant lot on Military Ave.
H.J. Martin and Son’s headquarters and showroom is located next to property.
“Military Avenue has been the home of H.J. Martin and Son for 60 years. It is our great pleasure to invest back into an area of Green Bay that we believe in and which has been so good to us,” Edward Martin, President and CEO of H.J. Martin and Son said in a statement.
The 8.362-acre, L-shape property includes the vacant, single-story former Shopko store and Superior Discount Liquors.
Shopko operated for 57 years at the Military Ave. location until closing in April 2019. Last year, the Ashwaubenon-based retailer declared bankruptcy, closing all of its stores.
