NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A former Oshkosh resident accused of walking hundreds of miles to have sex with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl has entered a guilty plea.
32-year-old Tommy Lee Jenkins pled guilty to a charge of attempted child enticement Thursday.
Jenkins made his 351-mile trip from Whitestown, Indiana to Neenah after talking on Facebook to who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy. He walked, hitchhiked, and rode a bus throughout the trip.
When Jenkins reached Winnebago County after taking a bus from Milwaukee, sheriff’s deputies arrested him. If convicted, Jenkins faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
