ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A one-stop shop type of organization is being formed to help Northeast Wisconsin entrepreneurs.
The state announced a $30,000 WEDC grant on Wednesday will help form the NEW Launch Alliance.
“We would love to connect with you and find out where you are in the stage of your idea development and your business launch and connect you to resources,” said Barb LaMue, the executive director of NEW North.
NEW North is the regional economic development corporation for 18 counties in Northeast Wisconsin. Under it will be NEW Launch Alliance, which will connect entrepreneurs to any resources they might need.
Titletown Tech, the partnership between Microsoft and the Green Bay Packers, is an example of one of the connections NEW Launch could make.
“Sometimes you need folks working on digital things, we’re good at that,” said Craig Dickman, TitletownTech Managing Director.
“Somebody else might need maker space to work on building something new that may not be in our lane. They can help connect to the right place.”
Bringing the resources together is a welcomed idea for Adam Hardy. He has a Green Bay startup called Future State, which analyzes data to build community intelligence.
“When you’re an entrepreneur you can feel really alone, so when you have an ecosystem of supports that are intentional, that can really help accelerate your work and connect you with the right people at the right time to make sure your successful.”
“We’re working with Wisconsin entrepreneurs that want to launch Wisconsin companies that will ultimately be hopefully very successful, will put more jobs on payroll and will greatly add to the state’s economy,” said LaMue.
Some of the things NEW Launch hopes to connect entrepreneurs with includes mentors, working space, and capital.
NEW Launch is expected to initially assist 30 organizations and 250 entrepreneurs.
