ALLOUEZ, WI (WTAQ) — Did you lose a wedding ring in Allouez?
If so, you’ve got a chance to get it back.
It was a story that first broke earlier this week when Allouez Village clerk-treasurer Debbie Baenen posted a picture of the ring online: and it’s actually the second time it’s been found. It was first discovered years ago in Green Isle Park and then was rediscovered in an envelope in the village’s lost and found box.
The problem? Nobody knows exactly how long ago it was lost.
“It could have been in the last five years…it could have been six to seven years ago,” Village Administrator Brad Lange said Wednesday.
Lange says the ring has been in the village’s possession since at least 2014, and may have been lost in the park as early as 2012.
Michelle Mahlik is the village receptionist, she says that when the ring first came in, they didn’t have the means to tell people about it easily.
“We didn’t have any Facebook or Twitter,” Mahlik told WTAQ. “That wasn’t available to the village at the time.”
If you think the ring is yours, stop into Allouez Village Hall and tell them the initials inscribed on the ring.
