ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay’s airport is making some vacations a little lighter for travelers.
Starting this week, those leaving cool Wisconsin for warmer climates, can leave their coats behind.
Austin Straubel International Airport’s coat check allows travelers to secure their winter coats at the airport so they don’t have to take them with them to warmer weather locations.
Airport director Marty Piette says they got the idea from Milwaukee’s General Mitchell Airport, which started offering the service last month, with great success.
Piette says travelers have already said they are excited to use it.
“We just launched the program this morning through our Facebook and Twitter accounts on social media and the reaction online ahs been very positive, a lot of good comments, people can’t wait to use it,” Piette said.
The cost is $2 per day with a maximum charge of $10.
Travelers can drop their coats off at the Air Host Grill, on the main floor of the terminals. Coats will be individually bagged and tagged.
