WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ) – Waupaca Police says a man was arrested after allegedly shooting his girlfriend.
Police say just before 11 last night, dispatchers took a call from a man saying he just shot his girlfriend.
Cops located the caller’s vehicle north of the city of Waupaca and the man drove off, leading to a vehicle pursuit.
After a brief standoff with officers, the man was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered.
Authorities found a woman at the Waupaca residence with a gunshot wound.
She was taken to the hospital and later flown to Theda Care of Neenah. Her condition is unknown.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and they do not believe the public is in danger.
