GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay’s Broadway district is celebrating the 25th year since the organization of the On Broadway group and marketing manager Tawny Casey says it’s been a good quarter-century, with a lot of additions to the district.
“Everything from restaurants to shops to some specialty locations, a lot of entertainment,” Casey told WTAQ. “Green Bay, especially the Broadway District, has got those qualities that people are looking for in a downtown, and 25 years ago that was not the case,”
With the continued development of the Railyard and Shipyard districts, Casey says the next 25 years are looking as good as the last 25.
“We definitely are looking for a lot more housing,” Casey said. “With the Shipyard coming, that’s going to be a big piece of the puzzle, and the Railyard is going to be another key piece.”
Broadway, once an oft-avoided high crime area, now hosts Wisconsin’s second-largest farmers market along with nearly 40 other events during the year.
