OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The 13th annual Battle on Bago happened on the shores of Lake Winnebago over the last two days.
It’s the Midwest’s largest ice fishing tournament and family fishing event of the year.
Organizers expected about 12,000 people to attend.
Although it’s usually a success, the amount of fish caught this year was lower compared to past years.
The event’s founder, Todd Reuss, says “The fishing was really hard this year, one of the toughest years that these guys had. We did not register the same amount of fish we normally do, so fishing was down a bit out there this year.”
All of the money raised goes to support area youth and conservation efforts.
