TOWN OF MUKWA (WTAQ-WLUK) — Just before midnight Friday night, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call about a person in distress along the Wolf River in the Town of Mukwa.
Deputies say when crews arrived they discovered the snowmobiler was in open water hanging on to the edge of the ice after his snowmobile went into the water.
The New London Fire Department executed the ice rescue of the snowmobiler who was then transported to Theda Care Medical Center of New London. The man was then moved by Theda Star Medical Helicopter to the Theda Care Medical Center of Neenah.
