(UW ATHLETICS, LAWRENCE ATHLETICS) MADISON, Wis. — Dylan Holloway broke a 3-3 with 1:04 left in regulation to give the Wisconsin men’s hockey team a 4-3 victory over No. 9 Penn State in the Kohl Center on a Valentine’s Day Friday night.The Badger scoring started by notching three goals in the first period and Wisconsin held a 3-1 lead heading into the second period. Defenseman Mike Vorlicky scored his first career goal, an unassisted tally to start out the home team scoring, before defenseman Joss Ess followed it up with another goal just 11 seconds later. After Penn State got within one, Max Zimmer scoring his fifth goal of the season, with helpers from Vorlicky and Ty Pelton-Byce, to make it 3-1 at the first break.Penn State surged back in the second to tie up the game at three. There it would remain until the final minutes of the game.Daniel Lebedeff held off the Nittany Lions in the third period, recording 35 saves on the night including 18 in the final frame.

Lawrence 3, St. Norbert 1
At Appleton, Lawrence University scored a trio of third-period goals Friday to knock off No. 14 St. Norbert College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at the Appleton Ice Center.
Zach Lodes scored Lawrence’s first two goals, and Jake Drinkard added an empty-netter to seal the victory.
Evan Cline stopped a career-high 66 shots for the Vikings (6-16-2, 5-12-2 NCHA). Cline stopped 19 shots in the opening period, made 23 saves in the second and 24 in the third.
Lodes broke a scoreless tie with a goal off assists from Vincent Dekumbis and Curtis Weyerhaeuser just 50 seconds into the third period. The Green Knights tied it on Michael McChesney’s goal with 6:36 remaining, but Lawrence answered.
Lodes took a nifty pass from Drinkard and beat St. Norbert goaltender Colby Entz with 3:44 left to give the Vikings a 2-1 advantage.
St. Norbert pulled Entz with 2:09 left for an extra attacker, but the Green Knights were whistled for a penalty with just 1:17 remaining. Lawrence’s advantage was short-lived as the Vikings were called for interference just four seconds later and Entz went to the bench again for an extra attacker.
After two near misses on the empty net, Drinkard sealed the win when he won a puck along the boards near the Lawrence blue line. He skated into St. Norbert zone and found the empty net with 35 seconds remaining for a 3-1 edge.
Entz made 26 saves for the Green Knights (13-9-2, 10-7-2), who saw their five-game win streak snapped and lost for just the second time in 15 games.
The series wraps up Saturday night at the Cornerstone Community Center.

Dubuque 4, Green Bay Gamblers
At Dubuque, Antonio Venuto’s goal at 17:29 of the second period put the Fighting Saints ahead to stay in the win over the Gamblers.
With Dubuque leading 1-0 in the first period, Jarrett Lee tied the game with a goal at 16:52, just 11 seconds after the Fighting Saints had taken the lead. Jake Schmalz got an assist on the goal.
Following Venuto’s second-period goal, Jimmy Glynn made it 3-1 Dubuque with a goal at 3-1.
Jesse Tucker pulled Green Bay within a goal at 4:58 of the period before Ty Jackson scored the game’s final goal at 14:16 of the third for a 4-2 Dubuque lead.
Nicholas Grabko had 31 saves for Green Bay.
Erik Portillo had 19 saves for Dubuque.
