APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A fire that started in an animal enclosure spread to an Appleton home Thursday.
Crews were called to a home on Pine St. just before 11 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters put out the flames coming from the back of the home.
Investigators learned the fire first started in an animal enclosure outside the home and spread to the home’s attic and second floor.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
Everyone in the home and all animals in the enclosure got out safely.
The fire is estimated to have caused $140,000 worth of damage.
