MADISON, WI (WRN) — You need to have a valid photo ID to vote in the upcoming election, and if you need one, the state is here to help. Patrick Fernan with the D M V says that process can be entirely free.
“If somebody wants to get an ID and they want to use it for voting purposes, they check a box on the form and it is available for free to them,” Fernan said.
If you already have a driver’s license, you’re already covered. A number of other IDs like military IDs are also valid. You’ll also need proof of citizenship, which is typically a Social Security Card or other valid papers. Find out more online at Wisconsin D M V dot Gov
