GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The green and gold helped raise $97,127 for the Salvation Army this holiday season.
Players and staff raised the money through a number of formats including Packers Give Back Day on December 17th and the autograph signing series.
On Packers Give Back Day, team employees rang bells at locations throughout Green Bay, Ashwaubenon and De Pere. They collected a total of $23,867, which was matched by the team up to $15,000, resulting in a total of $38,867 in donations for the day.
Packers players who signed autographs for fans at the Lambeau Field Atrium raised $29,130 over the five weeks and Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers matched all of the donations, bringing the grand total donated to the Salvation Army through Packers autograph signings to $58,260.
2019’s total came nearly $50,000 less than what the team collected in 2018.
The money collected goes toward Salvation Army’s efforts in helping families in need in Green Bay.
