GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Chief of the Green Bay Police Department is joining in with other officials in the city and making a bet with his San Francisco Counterpart.
Sweetening the deal between Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith and San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott is a personal history.
“Chief Scott and I have been friends since 1993, when we were LAPD officers together,” Smith told WTAQ. “We worked out near Venice Beach…he was just a great guy.”
The loser of the wager will have to post a picture of themselves wearing the jersey of the winning team on social media and donate $50 to the winning department’s foundation.
“I don’t have any San Francisco stuff. I don’t even know if I can find any in the state of Wisconsin. I might have to check eBay,” Smith said Friday. “But I’m confident I won’t have to wear any San Francisco attire at all.”
Smith joins Mayor Eric Genrich and Green Bay Metro Fire Chief David Litton in making wagers with their counterparts in San Francisco.
